Everyone Can Support Our Christmas Appeal

As we head into the festive season, we want to say a special thank you to everyone who has already shown support for Community Link’s Christmas Appeal 2025 – Everyone Can. Your generosity helps ensure that families across our region feel cared for, connected, and supported.

This year, we’re doing things a little differently. Instead of collecting toys and gifts, we’re focusing on food and financial donations and vouchers. This change allows us to offer families respect and choice, and ensures support reaches all age groups fairly. It also helps us respond to needs not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.

We’re welcome donations of food and household items to help stock our Foodbank and create Christmas Hampers for our regular clients. If you or your group would like to contribute, here’s what we’re currently seeking:

Toiletries

• Shampoo, hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes

• Tampons, sanitary pads

Tinned Goods

• Tomatoes, pasta sauce, baked beans, spaghetti

• Red kidney beans, chickpeas, coconut milk

Dry Goods

• Pasta, rice, crackers, biscuits

Household Essentials

• Toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish wash liquid

• Spray cleaner

Christmas Treats

• Chocolates, crisps/potato chips, Xmas cakes or puddings

• Xmas crackers, fruit mince pies, juice, chutney/relish

Every donation – big or small – makes a real difference.

A local family who received a hamper last year shared with us their feeling of being supported, “I feel so humbled and grateful for the incredible Christmas hamper. It made such a difference to our Christmas. My daughter loved making a gingerbread house, and the practical things — like toothpaste and sunblock — were an enormous help.”

Together, we can make this a Christmas where everyone can thrive.
