Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 – What an Incredible Month!

What began as a simple idea from Kenzie and Katie Garcia — to bring together groups and individuals who wanted to do something meaningful for our community’s mental health — blossomed into an extraordinary month of events, connection, and learning.

Across the Upper Clutha, we saw an incredible response. From sold-out workshops and talks to community gatherings and creative initiatives, the enthusiasm and commitment from participants was inspiring. Each event reflected the dedication of the individuals, groups, and organisations who put their time, energy, and heart into making Mental Health Awareness Month such a success.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved: to the speakers, facilitators, volunteers, and partners who made these events possible, and to all who attended, asked questions, shared experiences, and showed up for each other. Your participation brought the ideas of connection, care, and wellbeing to life in a real and tangible way.

Mental health is a conversation we want to keep going all year, and thanks to this month, our community is stronger, more connected, and better equipped to support one another.

Here’s to carrying the energy, learnings, and compassion from Mental Health Awareness Month into the year ahead!
