Mental Health Support in Our Region. Help When You Need It

Knowing Where to Turn

When life feels overwhelming, knowing where to turn for support can make a real difference.

In our region, there are a range of counselling and mental health services available — but when someone needs help right now, finding an up‑to‑date list isn’t always easy.

Making Support Easier to Find

That’s why Community Link maintains a central, regularly updated list of local counselling and mental health services on our website.

This resource brings together information on support options across the region, helping people and whānau find the right help at the right time.

The page is updated monthly, so people can feel confident the information is current.

Support That Starts With a Conversation

Alongside this, Community Link also offers direct, one‑to‑one support through our Wellbeing Connection service, delivered by Ana, a registered Occupational Therapist.

Around 80% of the people who come through this service are facing something that has tipped their balance — it could be a stressful situation, a sudden change, or the build‑up of pressures over time.

This might include grief, housing stress, relationship change, financial strain, or the weight of caring for others.

A Safe Space to Reset and Rebuild

Ana offers support that is compassionate, confidential, and tailored to each person’s needs.

It’s not about having all the answers, but about helping people cope, reset, and regain balance.

For many, reaching out is a first, and while it can feel daunting, people often tell us the relief of being listened to is immense.

Having a safe space to talk, rebuild confidence, and explore practical ways forward can be life‑changing.

You Don’t Have to Do It Alone

Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness — it’s a smart and courageous step.

By sharing reliable information and offering supportive connections, we can help ensure people don’t have to navigate tough times alone.
