Welcome to Lindsey Schofield
Community Link is growing, and we’re excited to introduce Lindsey Schofield, who has recently joined us in a new role as Relationship Development Manager.
Lindsey has called Wānaka home for the past 23 years, bringing a wealth of experience across both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Many may know her from her time as General Manager of the Festival of Colour, where she spent 10 years helping shape one of our region’s most celebrated events. She’s also well-versed in fundraising and building strong community connections, making her a perfect fit for the role.
When asked what drew her to the role, Lindsey shared: “I’ve always been active in the community, and I was between jobs and thinking about my next move and thought that Community Link would be a great fit for me. The very next day, I saw the advert for Relationship Manager and knew it was the perfect role for my skills and experience.”
What excites her most about joining the team? “Community Link has amazing ethos to help so many people so quickly and seamlessly - making their lives that little bit easier. With such a strong kau papa of caring for people, I know I will love being part of that ability to makes such a difference in people’s lives every day.”
Lindsey brings with her a terrific background in communication, deep local connections, and of course that mix of commercial and community-focused experience. When asked who influenced her career most, Lindsey credits three people: Philip Tremwan, long-time director of the Festival of Colour, taught me many things but one that has really stuck is that everyone makes mistakes - what matters is how you put them right. Earlier on, my first boss, Alex Bennigsen, showed me the importance of professionalism and how to carry yourself in business. And most recently Claire O’Connell at Precious Collaborative reinforced to me that kindness and good humour go a long way to achieve your goals Those lessons have stayed with me and are a big part of why I feel so comfortable now building relationships and communicating across such a wide range of people and industries - which is exactly what I’ll be doing here at Community Link."
We’re thrilled to welcome Lindsey to the team, and we know her energy, experience, and passion for people will make a huge impact as she settles into her new role.
